What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a type of facial aesthetic treatment that are designed to reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate your skin. They can be used around your eyes, cheeks, mouth, and jawline.
They’re made of gel that usually contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in your body. As you grow older, your body stops producing elastin and collagen and you are more vulnerable to the signs of ageing. Dermal fillers help to counteract this loss.
What to expect when you have dermal fillers
When you visit Matthew Smith, our aesthetic practitioner and qualified practitioner, he will discuss your desired results and explain the different treatment options available.
During treatment, an anaesthetic cream will be used to numb your skin and then you will receive your dermal fillers. This might feel uncomfortable but should not cause any pain.
After treatment, you may feel sore or slightly swollen, but this will settle down in just a few days.
