Dental Implants

Get a discreet, long-term solution for tooth loss and feel like yourself again with our outstanding dental implants

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are metal posts that replace the root of your tooth. These can be covered with natural-looking, discreet and long-lasting artificial teeth. Made of titanium, the implant fuses with your jawbone to create a strong and durable base that helps you regain your natural function and feel more confident.

They’re an excellent option if you:

  • Are missing one or multiple teeth
  • Have healthy oral tissues
  • Want to boost your confidence and improve your speech
  • Can’t or don’t want to wear dentures
  • Don’t smoke
  • Can commit several months to the process

How are dental implants done?

Dental implants are carried out in stages with healing time between each. You will first undergo a thorough evaluation to prepare for the procedure. Then any damaged teeth will be removed to prepare for your implants. Next, the titanium implant will be inserted into your jaw, and you will be given time for this to heal. Finally, your new, beautiful permanent tooth or teeth will be fitted.

Will it hurt?
As with most dental procedures, you will receive a local anaesthetic when you visit Cotteswold House Dental Care for dental implants. If you are concerned about the procedure, you can also ask for sedation or general anaesthesia. Speak to your dentist to find out more about your options.
How long will my implants last?
Provided that you take care of them properly with regular brushing, flossing and visits to the dentist, your dental implants could last a lifetime.
Will I have to go without replacement teeth during the process?
No, you won’t. We will provide you with a temporary prosthesis during the healing process for your comfort.
My teeth have been missing for a long time. Can I still have an implant?
Usually, you can still have an implant, even if you don’t have sufficient bone remaining in your jaw. During the evaluation, we will assess the amount of bone available and suggest the ideal solution for you. This could include a bone graft or other dental procedure.
