Facial Aesthetics by Matthew Smith at Cotteswold House

With today’s increasingly demanding lifestyles, it can be hard to maintain fresh looking, youthful skin. We all do our best to keep healthy, however, if you are finding it hard to meet the requirements of a balanced routine and the stresses of day to day life, Cotteswold House may have the answer.

Initially, we suggest coming along for a consultation with Matthew Smith. Matthew is a qualified dentist and aesthetic practitioner. His mission is to enhance your natural beauty, not alter it. Together, you can discuss the different treatment options available and the desired outcome that you are after. Sometimes more than one procedure may be recommended for your desired outcome to be achieved. Matthew will discuss this with you in depth during your consultation and will also take photographs to form part of your treatment record.

Matthew may ask you for information concerning any past facial aesthetic treatments that you may have undergone. We ask for this, as the previous experience will help him direct you towards treatments that are most suitable for your given history and desired outcome.

Once a proposed treatment plan has been agreed upon, you can book your procedure appointment, complete the relevant forms, and pay an initial deposit fee of £30.

We strongly recommend that patients do not schedule treatment within two weeks of any major social or work occasion in case of the possibility of bruising or other side effects.

Why Facial Aesthetics at the Dentist?

Dentists are highly trained in head and neck anatomy and routinely administer pain-free injections during general and cosmetic dental treatments.

Following further training in facial aesthetics, Matthew is pleased to be able to offer these additional aesthetic options to his patients alongside conventional dental treatments.

Wrinkle Reduction

Anti-wrinkle treatment is one of the most common facial aesthetics treatment available. Botulinum toxin type A is a safe and reliable local muscle relaxant which can help to reduce unwanted wrinkles and create a more youthful appearance. If you have lines or wrinkles at rest, dermal fillers may be a more appropriate option.

The most commonly treated areas include frown lines, horizontal forehead lines and “crow’s feet” around the eyes.It may take a few days for results to develop, and these can last around 3 months.

It has been shown that the effects of anti-wrinkle treatment often last longer with continued treatment and the time between injections increases.

Dermal Fillers

As we age, gravity, sunlight, diet and many other factors affect the way we look. Our skin loses natural moisturising substances, including collagen, causing wrinkles and folds to form at rest. We lose facial volume, and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can help to replenish this. If you are bothered by wrinkles which occur through facial expression, you may find that other treatment options may be more appropriate.

Dermal fillers can help rejuvenate your skin, reducing wrinkles and restoring a more youthful appearance.

Lip enhancement involves the careful placement of dermal fillers into the lips in order to enhance, shape, or add volume.
