If your tooth is knocked out
Try to find the tooth. Call the surgery to arrange an emergency appointment on 01452 524 024. Remove any dirt or debris from the tooth by rinsing gently.
If possible replace the tooth in the socket using gentle pressure. If you can not, keep the clean tooth in the inside of your cheek - or wrap it a clean cloth and store it in a container filled with milk.
A tooth can be re-implanted soon after the injury - so go to the surgery as soon as possible.
If your tooth is pushed inwards or pulled outwards
Call the surgery to arrange an emergency appointment. Gently reposition the tooth with your finger - but don't force it back into the socket.
Use a moist tissue to gently hold the tooth in place and contact the surgery as soon as possible.
If your tooth is broken:
Call the surgery to arrange an emergency appointment so that your dentist can assess the damage and decide on appropriate treatments.
If you are in pain at weekends or on a bank holiday
A dentist is available to give advice over the telephone between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Details on contacting the on-call dentist can be found on 01452 524 024.
